Elderly Health Essentials

The multi-disciplinary team of the Elderly Health Service, Department of Health has produced the series "Elderly Health Essentials", which consists of 8 episodes, to discuss common conditions among the elderly. Contents include:

  • Introduction of assistive devices that might be of use to the elderly; and sharing of how to enhance the self-care ability of stroke patients by occupational therapists;
  • Discussion on influenza and its prevention by a nurse;
  • Sharing of ways in managing stress brought by various conditions including chronic pain by clinical psychologists;
  • Discussion on the prevention of heart diseases and precautions for physical activities for patients with heart diseases by a physiotherapist;
  • Sharing of carbohydrate-controlled diet for diabetic patients and tips on healthy eating in festive occasions by dietitians
