Waiting Time
Waiting Time of Enrolment for Elderly Health Centres
The Department of Health has established 18 Elderly Health Centres (EHCs) in Hong Kong. Elderly persons aged 65 or above can be enrolled as members.
The waiting time for membership at each EHC is listed below for reference. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, EHCs have been providing limited service since January 2020. Different grades of staff have also been deployed to support the prevention and control of the pandemic. Hence the waiting time for new applications has been increased. Although services provided by EHCs have been resumed normal gradually, the service of EHCs would be adjusted according to the latest development of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the actual waiting time for new applications might be longer than the estimated waiting time.
The Health Bureau has been setting up District Health Centres (DHCs) or DHC Expresses in 18 districts gradually to provide services including health risk assessment. Elders can also register as a DHC member for their services. For details, please visit

Remarks :
- Since membership turnover is not high, new applicants may have to wait for quite some time to become enrolled as members. The waiting time of different centres varies with the number of applicants. The waiting time displayed only reflects the situation during the stated period and therefore may not be predictive of how long you would need to wait for membership.
- For elderly persons who are interested to enroll as members, please bring along your Hong Kong identity cards or other proof of identity to the respective EHC for application. For details, please contact our clinic staff.
- An elderly person can apply for and retain membership at ONLY ONE EHC at any one time. Please note that any newly submitted application will supersede application(s) submitted previously at all other EHCs (if you had applied for membership at another EHC, that application will be cancelled automatically). Besides, if you are already a member at any EHC, your membership at other EHCs will also be cancelled automatically.
